Santiniketan
10th and 11th April. It was a long time since we went for a full fledged trip. Hence after the boards, though not a trip actually, but can consider as an outing or a little rest from daily speed schedules. It was planned to visit Santiniketan. The group comprised of my family and I, mama, Pranab da, Sourav uncle, and few Purangana (mom and pishimoni's women club) members. We launched our journey at 6:30 or around in a Tata Sumo packing almost 12people in it. My legs were cramped as we swept around the morning Kolkata to pickup Jhuma Pishi from New alipore, Pranab da, Sourav Uncle, and Atashi Pishi from Rashbehari and rest were in from Chelta itself. We were joined by mama with his Santro Xing in the Belepole crossing in Kona Expressway. Pranab Da, Sourav Uncle and Me jumped into the Santro as it was more a my car than Sumo packed with the aged. :P.
We speeded through the GT Road, Durgapur Expressway, halted at Saktigarh for breakfast. Amazing fact was that each shop in Shaktigarh has "Langcha", popular sweet of there in it. Like Langcha Ghar, Langcha Mahal, Langcha Hall, Langcha Hotel, etc
We ate puri and others took langcha with it. Then in the midst of hot weather we sweated and reached our destination. The hotel was named Poushali and it was amazing one. It was situated just beside "Pratichi" great Amartya Sen's residence there. The rooms were large and spacy, with beautifully painted with artworks made by hand. Walls had handstamps of different colours, an aesthetic look allover, with Tagore's painting, portraits, clay pots and lots of others. I took a video coverage of whole of it with ma's Nokia 3110 Classic 1.3mp mobile-camera. I also haunted the lobby and rooftop which portrayed a wonderful scenario. I took quick snaps as others settled down in rooms. Me, pranabda, mama, Sourav Uncle and babai settled in a dormitory type large room meant for 5. We spent the afternoon inside the hotel as it was too hot with 'loo' outside. The lunch was delicious as was the 3meals we took there during our stay very homely and mouthwatering. It was rice, dal, sabji, posto, and Egg curry for me and fish for others.
The hotel owner was hardly of mama's age and was very friendly. We met Gyani (one who possess knowledge), a german sephard and a little white labrador there.
Well, pretty much, we went out for sightseeing in the car and we halted at the "haat" or village market, where people and local artists sat down with their craftswork for sale. Some of us bought some for their homemates. I enjoyed puchka there. Then we sat down to listen to baul songs, which was indeed amazing talent of bengal folks. We roamed around till night in market while the ladies hopped in for shopping. I was quite bored around this time.
But it is very important to confess a thing now, all the young girls in santiniketan studying in visva bharati or someplace, are exceptionally beautiful, talented and too much friendly. It is obvious I like girls with sporty attitude and so do they, all rode cycles speeded through the lanes and road with beautiful jeans or sarees or casual wares with a sweet smile. Each of them almost gave a amazing sweet smile to me whenever I stared at them. I cant express what I felt, but it was enough to tremble my knees, and to fall in love for them. Well the night we slept in little hot as loadshading was frequent, but tiredness pushed us into sweet dreams.
Next morning sharp around 5:30 we went to Santhal Village and snapped beautiful crafts and society of them. Then we visited amar kutir, while they were again busy shopping I roamed around the garden and nature and took pics in Pranab da's Digi Cam. It was very hot outside and after seeing Kopai, Khoai we returned back. Nothing more now, we took rest and had our lunch. Before the lunch we visited Visva Bharati, where a guide took us to visit different buildings and crafts inside the campus. It was also an excitement to feel Tagore's place.
We returned and had our lunch. Meanwhile mama went in his car and picked up Camelia didi (though future wife of mama, but I will always call didi, or simply camelia as she is hardly 5years or 4years older) and she joined us. After lunch all except mama, pranab da, camelia didi and me went to visit the museum. We hopped in santro and went to see Camelia didi's batchmates, and also visited their mess. I met Sushmita, a beautiful girl there, batchmate who had a sweet smile on her face and was extremely friendly. Hope can get her email id soon. We returned and joined others by car and then returned to Kolkata at late night. We had to visit Atashi pishi's home to drop her and then cutting cross kolkata again return to chetla. Finally tired and with some beautiful memories we returned home.
Hey forgot to mention, I missed Saturday class of Physics and Maths , while former agreed to redo it on Tuesday with Sayak and Rimo, while maths wasnt , obvious :)
